Kevin Jenne

Kevin Jenne was born and raised in Quebec, in the Eastern Townships. He trained under the Canadian impressionist David Drum. His early paintings were brightly coloured, representing subjects inspired by Montreal architectural motifs. Avoiding the linear style, he favoured strongly contrasting hues that gave his paintings enthusiasm. Jenne then created paintings evocative of stained glass, a technique he calls “intrinsic lighting”. Since then, he has arrived at his current “fragmentation” style. Light seems to emanate from within the canvas of the work. After a trip to France, where he studied the works of the great masters, his artistic inspiration changed course. Jenne then exploited his high creative energy and, between 1997 and 2002, put on four solo exhibitions and several group shows in Montreal. Jenne is now represented by several art galleries across Canada. He has executed major orders for collectors in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Bordeaux (France). He is also very active with many Montreal charities.
